Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Do you have a written contract?
A: Like all professionals, we use a written contract. This legal document will be initially emailed to all parties interested in our service. Our contract includes the location of the event, the date, the times we will perform, deposit info, your total cost, safety expectations etc. Some other details: we ask that a skirted table be provided for our set up near an outlet. We also must have full control of our program and equipment at all times.
Q: Can we meet with the DJ before we sign with you?
A: Absolutely! You'll have a 15+ year experienced DJ/MC, GUARANTEED! More experience means a hassle-free, fun night with a DJ whom is a focused music director, professional performer, reads a crowd and easliy adapts to change. Upon initial meeting, there is no obligation to commit at this time.
Q: If we want to hire you, what are the initial steps?
A: First, a contract should've been emailed to you upon your initial inquiry. Sign and send, along with the $95 deposit required to book your date, to the address provided on the contract. Second, you'll be provided a site link and password for our easy-to-use "Online Planning Service." This is a one-stop spot for everything you'll need to coordinate your reception details, including a Party/Specialty Song Suggestion word document and Reception Itinerary form, copies are automatically sent to you and your DJ. Very easy and convenient for everyone!
Q: What will my DJ wear to my wedding?
A: We’ll wear black dress pants along with a shirt and tie. For other events, such as reunions, holiday parties etc, we wear appropriate attire. That ranges from a suit and tie to casual. If you have a preference, please let us know in advance.
Q:What types of music do you have?
A: We have a very wide variety of music, our 320g hard drive is filled with over 30,000 songs. We anticipate there will be a lot of different guests whom all have a different idea of good music. At the start, we play music that everyone can enjoy and dance to. Later in the evening, we can play the music that the party crowd will like. In addition to music from the big band era up to the current popular music of today, we have a good selection of country, alternative, classic rock, and oldies. We also have polkas, waltzes, and other ballroom dances.
Q:How do you handle our/guests requests?
A: Your requests, we play. How we handle the others is at our professional discretion. While our mission is to keep the floor packed all night long, we’ll never play inappropriate songs without your approval. In your reception itinerary, you’ll provide play/do not play song requests. If we can copy it to our hard drive off your guests cd, we’ll play it. We can also hook up your guest's mp3 player.
Q:What time will you arrive to the venue?
A: We arrive one hour before the start time to set-up and sound check. The contracted times are for our performance. There is no charge for set-up/take-down. We do require that we have access to the room for a full hour before we start.
Q:Do you bring back-up equipment?
A: We utilize brand new, state of the art equipment; using new gear eliminates failure. Additionally, as we test all equipment the night before each show, we bring certain items as back-up such as a smaller, dependable laptop computer.
